Our Valley Our Future is most known for our 5-year Action Plans. These are developed from thousands of residents providing insights and feedback through surveys, listening sessions, and interviews. Then the qualitative data is analyzed and reviewed by subject-matter experts as part of our Action Teams to narrow in on the Game Changers and Action Items for the new 5-year Action Plan.
With each Action Plan, OVOF provides backbone support through active working group facilitation, research and reports, community events, and communication. We help bring public, private, and non-profit organizations together to further the ideas crafted by residents in our Action Plan.
The release of the community’s second five-year Action Plan culminates a 15-month process that saw input from 2,040 community members crafted into actionable projects and programs by six citizen committees.
The 2022-26 Action Plan includes nine “game-changer” initiatives, 86 other projects and programs, and more than 80 lead partnering organizations — spread across six focus areas.
The community’s first five-year Action Plan was released in January 2017 following two years of outreach, visioning and planning work. In 2015-16, more than 3,000 residents in Chelan and Douglas counties offered input, including 23 percent who self-identified as Latino.
